LAI MOHAMMED, AGATHA AMATA, GREG OJEFUA AND OTHERS WIN BIG AT NEMCEA 2024 ” THE AWARDS”

The highly anticipated third edition of the  Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards (NEMCEA) has come and gone with the Awards Nite giving a lasting memory and experience.

It was a night to behold as Content Producers, Actors/Actresses, Directors, Nollywood celebrities, Government Agencies representatives gather from all over the country to celebrate the very best of the electronic media content in Nigeria.

It started with Red Carpet and networking Session as the crew of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and One Music Channel from Free TV sets to beam the event Live for audience within and outside the shores of the country.

The hosts were the multiple awards winning African Cultural Ambassadors in Nneka and Isaac Moses of GOGE AFRICA Fame… They didn’t just live up to expectations but they added spice and drama to the event all through.

Some of the highlights of the event were the Special Industry Award that was given to the trio of Alhaji Lai Mohammed ( former Minister of Information and Culture), Mr. Toyin Subair (Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties &Domestic Affairs) who was ably represented by the Managing Director of FREE TV – Mr. Rajiv Mekkat and Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, Director General, Advertising Regulatory Council Of Nigeria (ARCON).

They were all conferred with the Special Industry Awards tagged Distinguished Awards as Champions of TV Broadcast Revolution in Nigeria.

The encomium on these trio read thus …

These individuals have contributed immensely and are still contributing to the development and continuous growth of the Broadcast Media Content Industry in Nigeria.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed planted the seed of this revolution with policies that he made under his leadership in the ministry and he held steadfastly until he left office.

Toyin Subair seizing the opportunity of those policies to canvass severally to ensure that the ideal of those policies are furthered and sustained by watering the process.

And today, we are proud to say we have Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, giving light to these seeds for it to sprout and flourish by maintaining strong Government positions to protect the practice and Advertising that drives the TV/Content Broadcast Industry in Nigeria. He is driving the campaign to bring back discipline and professionalism into the sector which will ultimately allow every stakeholders to flourish.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed PLANTED the SEED, Toyin Subair WATERED the SEED and Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo is giving LIGHT & LIFE to the SEED.

The awards induction was conducted by the two members of Board of Trustee (BOT) of Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN)in attendance in persons of Chief Emeka Ossai and Mrs. Jibe Ologeh.

Also very symbolic was the honour conferred to Industry Veteran – Agatha Amata. The segment of the honour was carried out by Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo(DG, ARCON). Though the Awards recipient wasn’t on ground physically but her 2 mins acceptance video was played to the audience while Charles Nsa(RAVE TV Channel Manager/Corporate Comms. Officer) received the Industry PACESSETER Awards for an (Outstanding Content Creator) on her behalf.

Agatha Amata, MD,/CEO, Inside Out Media Limited and RAVE TV/TREND FM, is a Nigerian media entrepreneur, talk show host, content producer, speaker, TV presenter and philanthropist.

The twist of the night continued as they were upset in different categories of the Awards as Greg ” Teddy Bear” OJEFUA carted away the Best Actor ahead of Veteran Jide KOSOKO and flamboyant Rotimi Salami and as another actress in Mary Gold won the Best Actress ahead of the Industry big weights like Ronke Odusanya and Ireti Osayemi.

Aside from the two hosts, Ehiliz’s song performance, speaking to the Nigeria situation was also spot on, energetic and memorable.

  1. As the tradition of NEMCEA “The Awards”, people were treated to sumptuous dinner amongst a lot of paparazzi, pomp and pageantry. NEMCEA 2024 was sponsored by Zee World, Creative Nigeria Summit (CNS), Radisson Blu Hotel, National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Nigeria Television Authority ( NTA), Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), IBOM Air, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Indomie etc.
