This is the biggest Premier League story in the world breaks as Manchester City have reportedly been found guilty of 114 of the 115 financial charges brought against them by the Premier League for breaches between 2009 and 2018. The verdict leaked on Friday after a secret 12-week trial held in London between September and December 2024.

The charges include providing misleading financial information over nine seasons when City won three Premier League titles including the famous Aguero 2011/12 title. City have denied all charges and chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak sent a letter to fans Saturday morning saying “our confidence in proving the club’s innocence is just as strong as when this began.”

What happens next is massive as Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are now preparing legal action for compensation of over £100 million each. Some are pushing for City to be forcibly relegated, handed a huge points deduction, or even stripped of past titles, which could hand United two extra titles from 2011/12 and 2017/18 where they finished runners-up.

Spanish reports also revealed Erling Haaland does NOT have a relegation release clause in his £260m nine-and-a-half-year contract till 2034, so City could still hold him even if relegated.

No punishment has been officially announced yet as an independent panel will hold a sanction hearing, and City are expected to appeal.
