A lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Christian Okeke, has demanded the immediate resignation of JAMB Registrar Ishaq Oloyede due to the technical glitch that affected the 2025 UTME.
Okeke believes that Oloyede’s admission of errors and display of emotion during a press briefing is insufficient, saying that “He should go extra step by resigning from office and allowing the federal government to reposition the Board for effective service delivery.”
Okeke also expressed concern that the examination body compromised the true abilities of applicants, stating instances where candidates who were supposed to sit for the exam died in accidents. He is calling for the release of the accurate results of the 2025 UTME and considers offering candidates who sat in affected areas the opportunity to rewrite the exam as a positive gesture.
