Nollywood Mourns Another Loss as veteran Actor Emmanuel France Passes Away.
The Nigerian film industry has been dealt another blow with the passing of veteran actor Emmanuel France. The cause of his death remains unknown at this time.
Confirming the news, a colleague shared a heartfelt tribute: “Rest in peace to one of Nollywood’s legends, Uncle Emmanuel France. One of the actors I took to Tanzania in 2006. We shot three movies together: She Is My Sister, The Director and Cross My Sin R.I.P.”
France’s demise comes just hours after the death of fellow Nollywood actor Big Larry. This year has been particularly challenging for the industry, with numerous losses since January 2024, including: Mr. Ibu, Junior Pope, Sisi Quadri, Ganiyu ‘Ogunjimi‘ Oyeyemi and Amaechi Muonagor.
France’s passing adds to the growing list of Nollywood practitioners lost in 2024.
