OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – OCTOBER 8, 2024
The Ogun State Government has launched a groundbreaking digital platform, the Digital Platform for Education Revitalisation (DiPER), to enhance the state’s education sector.
Developed by Edutams, a leading school management solution provider, DiPER streamlines enrollment procedures, reduces bias, and ensures merit-based admissions into flagship schools.
At a press briefing yesterday, Edutams’ CEO, Ademola Adenubi, disclosed that DiPER has assigned unique learner identification numbers to over one million students across public and private schools in Ogun State.
“DiPER addresses gaps in education management, offering a more transparent and efficient system,” Adenubi said.
The platform has simplified enrollment procedures, allowing prospective students to apply, pay for forms, and access admission letters online.
DiPER also ensures fair distribution of students across public secondary schools through a digitized placement process.
Out of 191,000 applications, 150,000 students were admitted based on merit, Adenubi revealed.
The platform provides real-time data to aid resource allocation, ensuring balanced distribution of students and teachers across schools.
Revenue collection has also become more efficient through DiPER.
Edutams plans to collaborate with national policymakers to replicate this system across Nigeria.
“Locally developed technology can significantly improve education management in the country,” Adenubi said.
With DiPER, Ogun State is poised to become a model for education innovation in Nigeria.
