It was expectedly another night of glitz and glamour as stakeholders of the Electronic Media Content Industry converged at the 4th edition of NEMCEA “The Awards” at the Prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel Ikeja Lagos on Wednesday 17th, September, 2025.
Aside the competitive categories of awards, the night was outstanding for the celebration of legendary figures and heroic figures in the Industry.
Legendary actor and film maker, Mr. Olu Jacobs and Veteran Film/TV Director/Producer Mr. Jimi Odumosu were both celebrated and honoured with the prestigious INDUSTRY PACESETTER AWARD by the organisers of the Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards (NEMCEA) 2025 and by extension Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN), the owners of the NEMCEA Brand.
The night was also used to confer Industry Recognition to two iconic figures in Mrs. Jibe Ologeh, the immediate Past President of EMCOAN and a member of the Board of Trustee ( BOT), EMCOAN as Luminary Award for Content Creation and Leadership while Ijeoma Onah, the Founder of Nigerian Film & TV Summit ( NIFS) another Industry strategist with an enviable profile was honoured with the INDUSTRY TRAILBLAZER AWARD for all her contributions over the years and what she’s still doing for the Industry till date.
In the welcome speech of Mr. Adeniji Omirin, the President of EMCOAN, he alluded to the fact that the awards has come to stay, hence, the Industry should embrace the effort of the organisers. ” We have come a long way and we can only hope to continue to celebrate the best of our Industry. Please, let’s continue to appreciate our own stories and our content” he concluded.
In the word of Alayande Stephen T., the NEMCEA 2025 Project Director ” Four years of rewarding the best of Content in the Industry with bias to TV, Radio and Online is no small feat and we can only strive to do more. I want to appreciate all the Nominees for this year’s awards, you are all winners for being a nominee alone, hence, you should be proud of this moments and this night. To the Jury, we thank you for the service to the Industry and importantly, to all our sponsors, we can’t but continue to appreciate you especially those that have bought into the dream since the first edition in 2022 and those that are just joining us this year, we say big thank you. Ladies and gentlemen, I urge you all to sit tight and enjoy the cruise of the night ” he proudly submitted.
The big winners for the night includes Gabriel Afolayan winning the Best Actor with Closets Drama Series and Marvel Bassey won the Best Actress with Sands of Time TV Drama series. Zee Media Services Ltd, the Producers of Closets for the second time in four years, carted home the biggest Award of the nite winning with Closets the Best Overall Drama Series of the year 2025.
Other notable winners of the night were Stellamaris Duru ( Chuchin Ultimate) , won the Best Producer of the year with her Drama Series (We Happy People), (Sport Pizza) of Romistine Media won the Best Sports Show while (Oro Yi Kan Wa) of Aims Media Company won the Best Entertainment Show on TV while Wivesround table won the Best Talk Show on Radio.
Zee World carted away two categories of Awards being Best Content Channel (International) and Best Technical Quality (International) with Twist of Fate Drama series. Winning for the first time the Best Drama Content ( International) is Star Life with their drama series Game of Love.
