Press Conference Speech by Mr Adeniji Omiri, President of EMCOAN

Distinguished members of the press, esteemed colleagues, partners, ladies and gentlemen, it is my great pleasure to welcome you all to this press conference as we officially announce the forthcoming Nigeria Electronic Media Content Exhibitions and Awards, popularly known as NEMCEA 2025, with the central theme: Sustainable Content Creation in a Fragmented Media Space.

This year marks the 4th edition of NEMCEA, and we are proud to say that in just a few short years, this initiative of the Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) has become one of the most important events in the media, content, and creative economy space in Nigeria.

From inception, NEMCEA was designed as more than just an event. It is a marketplace, a platform for collaboration, a hub for innovation, and a celebration of excellence in media content. It brings together stakeholders across television, film, radio, advertising, digital platforms, and media buying to connect, to share knowledge, to trade ideas, and to chart a way forward for the future of our industry.

This year, NEMCEA 2025 will be held on the 16th and 17th of September 2025 at the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. As always, the program will feature engaging exhibitions, insightful panel sessions, invaluable networking opportunities, and our signature awards ceremony celebrating outstanding contributions in the media and creative space. But what makes NEMCEA 2025 even more extraordinary is the new addition to our program – the AI in Production Masterclass, which will take place on the 16th and 17th of September, 2025.

In partnership with Ingro Systems, this groundbreaking masterclass will introduce participants to the possibilities of co-creating with machines, harnessing artificial intelligence in video editing, scriptwriting, graphics, cinematography, content curation, audience engagement, and workflow optimization.

We are privileged to have as our lead facilitator, Mr. John Orakwe, an award-winning AI strategist and one of the world’s top AI educators, who has trained thousands of business leaders across several countries. With him, we will explore both the opportunities and ethical considerations of AI in media production.

This is a bold step forward. It is evidence of our belief that Nigeria’s creative and electronic content industry must not be left behind in the global digital transformation. By equipping our professionals, students, and emerging creators with these skills, we position Nigeria not just as a consumer of global media technology, but as a producer of content and innovation that can stand on any stage in the world.

Ladies and gentlemen, EMCOAN remains fully committed to improving the electronic content and creative economy landscape in Nigeria. Our mission has always been to protect the interests of content owners, promote local content, and create platforms where creativity can thrive commercially and sustainably. NEMCEA is one of our biggest vehicles for achieving this, and we are proud of how far it has come.

We call on all stakeholders – broadcasters, advertisers, agencies, brand custodians, content creators, tech innovators, investors, and policymakers – to join us at NEMCEA 2025. Whether as participants, exhibitors, or sponsors, your presence will help us take this industry to new heights.

Together, we can unlock the vast potential of Nigeria’s creative economy, strengthen our industry, and build a future where our media content does not just entertain, but also educates, empowers, and drives economic growth.

On behalf of the entire EMCOAN family, I thank you for your continuous support. We look forward to welcoming you all to NEMCEA 2025 this September.

Thank you and God bless.
