The family of renowned Nigerian filmmaker, actor, and producer Kayode Peters has announced his passing.
Kayode Peters died on Saturday morning in Toronto, Canada, after a prolonged battle with illness.
The family paid tribute to him. They described him as “a cherished son, husband, father, brother, and friend, a gifted film maker, actor and producer whose work inspired many. Beyond his talent, it was his kindness, warmth, and generous spirit that truly defined him.” They also said, “He touched countless lives, both on and off the screen, and will be deeply missed.”
The family requested kindness and privacy during this difficult time, saying, “As we grieve this painful loss, we kindly ask for kindness and privacy while we take time to make arrangements for his funeral and to heal. Further details will be shared in due course.”
Kayode Peters was a notable figure in Nigeria’s theatre and television industry, known for his work in productions like “Extended Family” and “Flatmates,” a popular comedy series in the early 2000s.
The family expressed gratitude for love, condolences, and support, saying, “Thank you for your love, condolences, and continued support.”
