Rotimi Adelegan, Aj Dagga Tolar And Others To Speak At TheatreMania Africa Organised World Theatre Day Webinar On March 27

 

Nollywood and Stage Play Actor – Rotimi Adelegan, Award Winning Author in person AJ Dagga Tolar, Lydia Gifty Hagan, an Arts/Media Consultant from Ghana, Uwagbai Paul, a Veteran Theatre Director amongst others have been announced by the International Central Working Committee of TheatreMania Africa Festival (TAF) to be the Lead Discussants of the WEBINAR in celebration of the World Theatre Day come Thursday March 27, 2025. This we gather is part of the Build-Up event towards the forthcoming TheatreMania Africa Festival (TAF) later in October 14-17, 2025 in Lagos, Nigeria.

The theme for this year’s World Theatre Day WEBINAR is – Theatre: A Culture of Peace in Search of Development and it is scheduled to take place on Thursday March 27, 2025 between 2.00pm – 4.00pm via Zoom.

Alayande Stephen T., the TAF CEO/Co-Founder, in his remarks said, “as you all know that the ultimate goal of World Theatre Day (WTD) is to promote and create more awareness of the art form across the world and to drive more traffic of lovers of the theatre and arts to go watch more stage productions. Hence, our initiative to symbolically mark the WTD with a Webinar that will further bring perspective and clarity to the continuous ongoing discussion as regards Theatre and a culture of peace in search of development. This is one of the several build up event to herald the much talked about TheatreMania Africa Festival later in the year. So, we are calling on all lovers of Theatre/Creatives and the arts in general to join this Webinar as scheduled”, he concluded.

The Producer/Festival director also highlighted that “as part of the World Theatre Day celebration, TheatreMania Africa team is encouraging all TAF Ambassadors/Partners and all other Thespians/Creatives and Lovers of the Arts across Africa to do a 45 secs/1 min video to identify, celebrate and speak to the theme -Theatre: A Culture of Peace in Search of Development to celebrate World Theatre Day even before March 27.
