The Federal Government has reiterated its dedication to enhancing the capabilities of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies.

At the Passing Out Parade of the Regular Course 7/2019 Cadets of the Nigeria Police Academy, President Bola Tinubu, represented by Senator George Akume, emphasized the importance of equipping the police with modern tools, training, and support to fight insecurity.

The event was attended by senior officials, security chiefs, and traditional leaders, and it marked a significant milestone for the cadets and the nation’s security development.

President Tinubu praised the Police Academy’s transformation, stating improved infrastructure, academic standards, and training, as well as its accreditation as a degree-awarding institution.

He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to building a modern, people-focused police force, prioritizing integrity, accountability, and human rights. He said, “Our vision remains clear, to raise a Police Force that is well educated, well trained, and fully equipped to manage internal security with dignity and fairness.”

Senator Akume urged the newly commissioned cadets to uphold high standards, saying, “You are not just law enforcers; you are guardians of our collective security and well-being. The nation expects you to serve with honour, fairness, and selfless dedication.”

The President stressed that the cadets must treat citizens with dignity, uphold the law, and exhibit exemplary conduct. He assured them that their welfare and development would remain a priority. The administration is addressing insecurity through economic expansion, social cohesion, and inclusive development.

President Tinubu thanked the families of the graduating cadets for their support.

Lastly, he urged Nigerians to unite behind the quest for a safer, more prosperous nation. He said, “Let us look to the future with hope and determination. Together, we can build a Nigeria that is secure, just, and prosperous for all.”
