The Vice Chancellor of Osun State University, UNIOSUN, Prof. Clement Adebooye has explained why the University silently increased the hostel accommodation fee.
Recall that the management of the University silently increased the hostel accommodation fee from #80,000 to #135,000.
However, speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the newly Students Union leaders at the Multipurpose Hall on the main campus in Osogbo, Professor Adebooye, attributed the increment in charges like the hostel fees and fees for science students to the prevailing higher inflation and increased costs of academic materials in the country.
He emphasized that despite the federal government’s policy mandating tertiary institutions to transfer 40% of their revenue to the Federal government, there will be no increase in tuition fees.
