The release of Nollywood actress and singer, Angela Okorie, has been delayed. She remains in Suleja prison custody even after meeting the conditions for her release.
The Federal High Court in Abuja granted her bail on Friday, setting the amount at ₦5 million with a surety of similar status, specifically a level 13 civil servant, following interventions from notable figures including Omoyele Sowore, Mama Pee, actor Stanley Ontop, and Randy Peter.
The situation has led to widespread debate on social media, with many expressing concern over the delay. Actor Stanley Ontop explained the situation, via an instagram post, saying that the bail process was finalized late on Friday. He said, “Angela Okorie Bail application has been processed, but after we had finished the processing, time has gone. So she will be out from Suleja prison by Monday. We have met all her bail conditions, we await Monday for her release.”
