Nigerian music mogul Don Jazzy has publicly called out a food vendor who gifted him nkwobi, a traditional dish, in exchange for his artist Rema’s performance at her event.
In a video on his Instagram page, Don Jazzy shared the encounter, saying that he doesn’t appreciate “free” gifts with strings attached. He questioned the vendor’s expectation of getting Rema in return for the dish, saying, “Out of nowhere you give me free nkwobi that I didn’t ask for, which you insisted. I accepted and ate it. Suddenly, you want me to return the favour — you’re asking me to give you Rema?How does it even add up? Is the exchange rate for me? Because of nkwobi?”
Don Jazzy concluded by warning others. He said, “no one should give me free gift again. I don’t want it.”
