Ibrahim Chatta: From Bus Conductor to Nollywood Star

By Oyinkansayo Wole-Bodunde.

Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has opened up about his humble beginnings, revealing that he spent nearly a decade working as a bus conductor to make ends meet.

In a conversation with Biola Bayo on the “Talk to B Podcast,” Chatta shared his experiences of struggling to survive in Lagos State. He recalled living in a cramped single room with nine other people, and having to walk long distances from Agege to Ikeja.

Chatta’s determination to succeed led him to take on the role of a bus conductor, a job he held for eight years. He navigated the challenges of working in Lagos’ busy transportation sector, plying routes from Iyana Oba, Oshodi, to Eko.

Reflecting on his journey, Chatta said, “I lived in a single room with nine other people and it was difficult. I will walk from Agege to Ikeja back then. I became a bus conductor for eight years. Working from Iyana Oba, Oshodi, Eko. I have worked so hard in life. May God crown my effort.”
