9mobile is marking a new era with its rebranding to T2, signaling a renewed commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and digital transformation.

This move is part of the company’s four-phase recovery plan, which includes Stabilisation, Modernisation, Transformation, and Growth.

After being acquired by Lighthouse Telecoms in 2023, 9mobile has undergone significant transformations, including restructuring its board, appointing new leadership, and partnering with MTN Nigeria in a landmark infrastructure-sharing deal.

The rebranding to T2 represents a major milestone in the company’s “Transformation” phase, showing its dedication to delivering exceptional customer experiences and innovative digital services.

According to Obafemi Banigbe, CEO of T2, “This isn’t just a logo change; it’s a total evolution of who we are and how we deliver value. T2 embodies our dedication to innovation, resilience, and an enhanced customer experience. We are building a brand ready to thrive in the digital economy.”

Chairman, Thomas Etuh emphasized the significance of the rebrand. He said, “Today marks a fresh start for 9mobile. Our journey has been tough, but driven by love for country and faith, we are rising again, reclaiming our position.”

The Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, praised T2’s bold move, urging the company to maintain its commitment to innovation and service excellence.

Lagos State’s Secretary to the Government, Barr. Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, also commended T2’s digital vision, mentioning its alignment with the state’s development goals.
