By Oyinkansayo Wole-Bodunde.

Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative, expanding free education to senior secondary students in public schools.

On September 26, during a meeting with principals and head teachers in Awka, the state capital, Soludo announced the policy’s implementation, starting next week.

Soludo emphasized the importance of accessible education in fostering personality, talent, and mental and physical development. “I want to assure you that even with the resource constraint; our administration will continue to work very hard to deliver on its mandate,” Soludo stated. He also directed that senior class students who paid the N5,000 tuition fee for the current term should receive refunds.

This expansion builds upon Soludo’s Solution Free Education policy, launched on September 21, 2023, providing free and compulsory education from nursery to junior secondary levels. Previously, senior secondary students paid N5,000 as tuition fees.

Governor Soludo’s initiative aims to increase access to education, promoting overall development and empowering Anambra’s youth.
