Nollywood actress, fashion icon, and all-around entertainer, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kie Kie, is basking in glory after her new movie “Gingerrr” pulled off something absolutely sensational! She’s not the only one Producer here, she’s got a very bad gang of actress and producer.
Now, rewind a little — “Gingerrr” hit cinemas on September 26, and from day one, the energy was mad! The movie, starring an all-female power cast and producers— Kie Kie, Bolaji Ogunmola, Bisola Aiyelola and WunmiToriola — came with all the right spice, sass, and storylines Nollywood fans crave.
And guess what? The film didn’t just perform — it blew the box office open! In just 11 days, “Gingerrr” became the highest-grossing September Nollywood title, raking in a jaw-dropping ₦185 million. Yes, you heard that right. ₦185 million!
But that’s not even all. The movie also snagged the title of “Film of the Weekend” — two weekends in a row! And to crown it all, it’s officially the highest-grossing non-festive Nollywood film of 2025. Non-festive! Meaning this wasn’t even during Christmas or Easter when everyone’s running to the cinema. It’s that good.
Of course, our girl Kie Kie couldn’t contain the excitement. She took to her Instagram and dropped the numbers with pride, writing in her playful, bubbly tone:
