Naija Poetry Fest 3.0 to Celebrate World Poetry Day with Film and Poetic Album Launch

The day is upon us again and just like the last two editions of World Poetry Day every Match 21st, the Naija Poetry Fest is set to celebrate it’s 3.0 edition this year with some bold steps and initiatives.

Lovers of literature, culture, and spoken word are set for an exciting gathering as Naija Poetry Fest 3.0 prepares to mark World Poetry Day with a rich display of poetry, performance, and creative innovation on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

The annual festival, which has grown into one of Nigeria’s vibrant literary gatherings, will bring together poets, writers, cultural enthusiasts, and young creatives for a celebration of the power of words and artistic expression. The event aims to promote poetry as a tool for storytelling, social reflection, and cultural preservation.

One of the major highlights of this year’s festival will be the launch of two landmark creative projects — a short film inspired by poetic storytelling and a poetic album featuring spoken word performances. According to the organisers, the projects are designed to expand poetry beyond the traditional stage and introduce it to wider audiences through film and audio platforms.

The festival will also enjoy a strong media presence. In addition, the event will be live streamed, allowing audiences across Nigeria and the global literary community to participate virtually.

Speaking ahead of the event, the Convener of the festival, Godson Osarenren, noted that Naija Poetry Fest continues to serve as an important platform for nurturing emerging voices in poetry while celebrating established talents within Nigeria’s literary space.

According to him, the festival is designed not only as a performance platform but also as a cultural movement that encourages young people to engage with literature, creativity, and intellectual dialogue.

The gathering will feature live poetry performances, artistic collaborations, networking opportunities, and cultural conversations among poets, artists, scholars and lovers of literature.

With its blend of poetry, multimedia creativity, and cultural dialogue, Naija Poetry Fest 3.0 is expected to stand as a memorable celebration of Nigerian artistry and the enduring relevance of poetry in contemporary society.
