Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, is on the run after allegedly beating up Ashabi Simple, actress and mother of his child, at his Ogun state bar on January 1, 2026.
The drama went viral when a video of the incident surfaced online. Ashabi had visited Portable’s bar, insisting she be recognized as his wife, not just another baby mama. She said, “Oya Pami baby, I’m also your wife, you have to stop calling me your baby mama.”
Things escalated when Portable pushed her, saying he only recognizes Bewaji as his wife. Ashabi responded saying, “Then you will have to kill me, baby.”
After the incident, Ashabi and her siblings reported Portable to the police, but he escaped arrest. Ashabi shared on Instagram that the police met his pregnant wife, Bewaji at home, while Portable was nowhere to be found. Ashabi alleged Portable beat her up, seized their phones, and threatened them with an axe.
There are several reactions online with some blaming Ashabi for pushing boundaries and others saying she deserves respect.
