Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, has continued his philanthropic efforts in education with a generous donation of N60 million to Peter University and the School of Nursing in Anambra State.
This significant contribution reflects his unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of education across Nigeria.
Obi’s donation is split between the two institutions, with N50 million allocated to Peter University and N10 million to the School of Nursing.
During the cheque presentation ceremony, he emphasized the crucial role quality education plays in national development, encouraging students to strive for academic excellence.
Obi highlighted the importance of education. He said it is the most impactful tool for societal progress. He urged students to view themselves as future leaders capable of effecting positive change in society. He also stated his commitment to supporting institutions that cultivate skills, professionalism, and ethical character.
Obi’s contributions to Peter University include sponsoring an entrepreneurship center designed to equip students with practical skills for self-sufficiency and innovation. This initiative aligns with his vision for a progressive and prosperous Nigeria, where accessible, high-quality education is indispensable.
