A soldier and a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCSDC) personnel were injured in an IED explosion in Imo State’s Orsu Local Government Area.
The incident happened during a joint operation by 34 Artillery Brigade troops targeting a suspected IPOB and ESN hideout.
Security expert, Zagazola Makama reported that the device was triggered when the personnel stepped on it, and they are currently receiving medical treatment.
The source stated, “They were immediately administered first aid and subsequently evacuated to a medical facility for further treatment. Operations are ongoing in the area to dismantle criminal hideouts and enhance safety.”
