UNILAG Lecturer Accused of Sexually Assaulting Student

Dr. Samuel Ojogbo, a senior lecturer at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has been accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old female student in his office on August 22, 2025.

The student reported the incident to the police on August 28, 2025, and received medical treatment at a nearby hospital.

UNILAG’s management confirmed awareness of the allegation and disclosed that the matter has been reported to the police. The University’s Safeguarding Centre is providing support to the student.

According to UNILAG’s spokesperson, Mrs. Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, a panel has been constituted to investigate the matter.

Mrs Alaga-Ibraheem said, “The public is hereby assured that the University will conduct a thorough investigation, and ensure justice for all involved.” She encouraged students and staff to report any cases of harassment or misconduct through designated offices.

The University’s Safeguarding Centre is providing counseling and support to the affected student.

The University reaffirms its commitment to a safe and supportive environment for all students.
