The Labour Party in Anambra State has announced that it will not participate in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for September 28th, 2024.
The party’s leadership has distanced itself from a list published by the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) that claims to represent Labour Party candidates in Anambra East Local Government Area.
According to the party, the list is fake and did not come from them. They have not held any primaries or submitted any names to the Commission.
The party is warning the public to disregard the list and has called on ANSIEC to remove their name from the poll. If not, they will take legal action.
The Labour Party is already in court challenging the election process and will not participate in the election. They believe that ANSIEC’s actions are desperate and aimed at deceiving the public. The party wants to make it clear that they are not involved in the election and will not be held responsible for any consequences.
The party’s statement emphasizes that they are not participating in the election and warns anyone dealing with the individuals on the fake list to do so at their own risk.
