Nigerian poet and cultural curator, Lanre Sonde is set to release the final installment of his Mellexy trilogy, “Mellexy: Realising Every Dream,” on October 23, 2025.
This collection of poems marks the culmination of a six-year journey that started with “Mellexy: Through Your Eyes” (2019) and “Mellexy: Colours of You” (2022).
The trilogy explores themes of love, intimacy, desire, and transformation through Sonde’s lyrical poetry. “Mellexy: Realising Every Dream” features 51 poems that shows the evolution of love and endurance. Lanre Sonde describes this collection as “a testament of love filled with grace, patience, beauty, and mutual understanding.”
The Mellexy series has received praise from literary critics, with descriptions such as “a palette of desire,” “lyrical and intoxicating,” and “a collection that paints love with words.”
The trilogy’s visual identity is defined by the artwork of Vyankka Balasabas, whose face is featured on all three covers. Lanre Sonde praises her as “the soul of the Mellexy project.”
