Lush Hair, a prominent Nigerian hair brand, has launched a transformative initiative called “Pink My Salon” to empower local hair stylists.
The first recipient of this corporate social responsibility project is Aunty Rita, a talented stylist who was discovered by Lush Hair’s brand ambassador, Real Warri Pikin. Real Warri Pikin’s heartfelt story about Aunty Rita’s dedication and potential sparked the brand’s interest in revamping her humble roadside salon.
Beyond renovation, Lush Hair equipped Aunty Rita with the skills and knowledge to run a thriving business. Through the Lush Hair Professional School, she participated in an intensive crash course covering hair styling fundamentals and social media marketing strategies to attract and retain clients. The school also provides complimentary training sessions to the community.
The “Pink My Salon” initiative is an ongoing endeavor, with Lush Hair committed to supporting more women in various communities to establish and grow their salon businesses. Vivian Obiano, Lush Hair’s Marketing Manager said, “At Lush Hair, we believe in empowering women to be the best versions of themselves. That’s why we were happy to help Aunty Rita and others like her.” Obiano further emphasized the brand’s commitment to giving back saying, “We believe that by giving back to the society, we’re helping build a stronger and more stable economy.”
Aunty Rita expressed her gratitude, saying, “I still can’t believe this is my shop, and I used to dream of having a proper salon, but Lush Hair has made that dream come true. I’m so grateful for the training and support. Now I know how to grow my business and take better care of my customers.”
The initiative shows Lush Hair’s dedication to supporting women, fostering business growth, and creating a brighter future in the beauty industry.
