Legendary Nigerian actress and journalist Taiwo Ajayi-Lycett has been officially confirmed as an honouree at the TheatreMania Africa Festival 2025, a vibrant showcase dedicated to celebrating theatrical expression across the African continent.
A lifelong lover of theatre and one of Nigeria’s most influential stage personalities, Ajayi-Lycett will be specially awarded during the Hall of Fame segment of the festival—an honour reserved for individuals whose contributions have shaped and elevated African storytelling.
The festival, scheduled for December 9th at Shodex Garden, Ilupeju, and December 10th at Radisson Blu, Lagos, will bring together theatre lovers, seasoned performers, emerging talents, schools, and creative groups for two days of drama, music, dance, spoken word, and cultural celebration.
Described by organizers as “a home for authentic African stories,” the TheatreMania Africa Festival aims to spotlight the richness of African stagecraft while celebrating both fresh voices and veteran icons.
With Taiwo Ajayi-Lycett’s recognition, the 2025 edition is set to highlight the powerful legacy of African theatre and the bright future unfolding through its next generation of performers.
